A horse for Valentine’s day

It's a short story with no depth in the book. The characters of the characters are superficial and don’t have a personal development. Which I find surprising because the main character Ellie must still cope with the death of her sister who is died 3 years ago. Furthermore, Logan is only labelled as mysterious and I think that the author has lost an opportunity here for an educational message:
  • How is Logan functioning in daily life?
  • How does he reads people and animals?
  • In which way maintained Ellie and Logan their intercommunication?
  • How does society looks at their relationship?
  • Will their love survive above the preconceptions of the society?
Ellie is on holiday with her parents but it’s not a relaxing vacation. Because her parents are still in the mourning for their lost daughter that died in an accident. Her parents cannot handle this and use each other as an outlet for their perpetual quarrels.

Ellie would like horse riding but that is too dangerous according her parents. Is there any solution?

A very relaxing story you read away on the beach, with a happy end.
