Can I let you go?

A heartbreaking true story of love, loss and moving on

For a change, this time the social services do really good work. However, the story still has a sad ending. A mother with foetal alcohol syndrome has learning disabilities and has an unwanted pregnancy.

Until the end it’s not clear who the father is. The mother-will-be, Fay, is living with her grandparents because her mother died due to alcohol abuse. Unfortunately, the grandparents have many aging problems that leave them immobile and unable to care for Fay in the last 3 months of her pregnancy.

So Fay goes to foster carer Cathy until the baby is born. The baby will be adopted and Fay goes back to her grandparents. At the end Fay wants to keep the baby. But is this in the interests of the little one?
