Taste of darkness – The healer collection 3

This is the first time in my experience of reading English literature that I was sorry to see the end of a trilogy. The author had captured my imagination so well I was left wanting more. There at least two themes that could further be developed in a subsequent volume, namely, Kerrick’s magical characteristics as one with the forest and Kerrick’s potential to continue to develop his gifts as a human.

A third theme, about which I would like to see more development, is the fate of the two surviving children who had been poisoned by the death lilies through the heartless experiments of king Tohon. How will they develop in the future?

At the end the story has a surprising twist. The story delivers a few surprises centered around Avry’s resourcefulness and creativity attempt to cheat death, even without consulting her ally Kerrick and her breaking the bonds of the magical forged relationship with the evil Tohon.

Tohon can only be defeated if the beleaguered groups co-operate with each other. Will King Ryne be strategically effective enough to unite the groups?
