When Sophie met Darcy Day

I found the title of the book very misleading. It gives the reader the impression that the entire content of the book is written about the constructive relationship between Sophie and the neglected racing horse Darcy Day. But this is absolutely not true. She is just the first person in the story in which horses show that they sometimes know when someone is in special need and show adapted behavior for that person.

It is a search for the author how she and her partner can survive in space if they want to help old racehorses, but that also applies to the financial area. Some moves from different farms will be pass before they find the right home and the right place. Financially there will be a lot of effort to get out of it. Ultimately, they decide to use the farm as a charity.

After that, the actual ideas come true. They are going to focus on children who have a different special need, and that can be; the restoration of sexual abuse, behavioral problems, to severe forms of autism. Each chapter has his own story of a horse and child.
